PTA

The Parent Teacher Association (or PTA for short) is a   group run by parents on behalf of the school. We try to support the school both practically and financially.

We would be delighted if you would consider becoming an active member of the Parent Teacher Association. We have been supporting the school for 10 years now, but inevitably as children get older and move on to other schools, parents move on to other parent teacher associations. We therefore constantly are in need of new active members.
We try to support the school both practically and financially. Over the years, our main project has been playground equipment such as scooters and bikes, picnic tables, outside toys and much much more. We are still raising more money towards the new improved playground and hope to purchase specific items from the plans after the summer holidays. We have also purchased music equipment, wet play toys, and items requested at the schools’ council on behalf of the children. We also pay towards the children’s Christmas present and year group parties each year.

We try to do this primarily by holding fund raising events (although we do also arrange fun events even if they have limited financial potential). Events have included wine and wisdom, fashion show at the Kings Hall, Christmas raffle, school discos and summer fair (to name a few). All of these take time to organise. We could hold twice as many events and raise twice as much money if we had double the number of active members. Therefore, we would like you to join our committee, which is open to any parent or guardian of a child at the school. We hold monthly meetings which are very social and not just for the ladies !!!

Second-hand uniform is now available in the reception area. If you have any uniform (inc socks, tights and gloves) your child has out grown we would be grateful of your donations to the PTA; it can then be sold and proceeds used for special events and resources in school for your children. We are also looking for dolls to be used for outside play; so if you have any dolls/dolls clothes you no longer need and would like to donate we would be very grateful.
