 Local Visits

Our children enjoy an active and exciting curriculum which is enriched by accessing the local community.  Occasionally we will take the children on walks out of the school grounds, in addition to exploring the grounds of both the infant and junior schools; for example, to the park, the church or beach.  Such visits would not involve any cost or travel.  We ask that you consent, via Arbor, for your child to take part in local visits within Herne Bay; we will always inform you in advance of any trip we take.  In the event of visits further afield you will receive information prior to the visit.

Swimming

Although swimming is not a requirement of the Infant Curriculum, we have always felt strongly that the children benefit enormously from swimming experiences.   As we live so close to the sea, we feel that you will share our concern that the children learn to swim as early as possible.

The pool in Herne Bay is able to offer us sessions to allow the children to gain water confidence.  Each class will visit the pool for 6 sessions a year. These sessions are currently funded by the school.

Earrings & Jewellery

To help keep all children safe, we ask that jewellery is not worn in school or the nursery. In an active school environment, particularly with younger children, jewellery can increase the risk of accidental injury during play and learning activities.

If your child does wear earrings to school, these should be small stud earrings only. Earrings must not be worn during PE. If they are worn to school, your child will need to be able to remove them independently, or they should be covered with tape on PE days. If earrings are unable to be removed or taped, your child will not be able to take part in the PE lesson.

Medical Conditions

If your child has a medical condition, please add details on Arbor and speak to our office.  It may be necessary to have a medical protocol in place before your child starts school.
